UNESCO aims to increase mutual understanding and develop a deeper understanding of people&#8217;s lives by promoting the sharing of information and the free flow of ideas. UNESCO&#8217;s programmes contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, as defined in the 2030 Agenda adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. The UNESCO Constitution was adopted in London in 1945 and entered into force in 1946.
