DISEC
(Disarmament and International Security Committee)

DISEC (Disarmament and International Security Committee) is the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. It focuses on issues related to global peace, disarmament, and international security. DISEC addresses threats such as the proliferation of nuclear weapons, regional conflicts, and terrorism. It brings together all 193 UN member states to debate and propose non-binding resolutions aimed at promoting international peace and security. While DISEC does not have the power to enforce laws, its discussions play a key role in shaping international norms and encouraging cooperation among nations.
